Closed: Uncommonly Cute Review & Giveaway

WINNER: BAO

Who they are:
Uncommonly Cute is an online store that sells cool baby clothes with designs printed on shirts for  babies and toddlers. Designs range from ‘birthday’ shirts to political sayings, big/little brother/sister shirts, and many others. Shirts are available in short-sleeved, long-sleeved and onesie styles and range in size from newborn up to size 6.
The store was started by a mom who “realized how few fashion options existed for babies. As she mingled with the other moms at the jungle gym, her fashion concerns were echoed. The mothers appreciated their children’s quirks, but couldn’t seem to find clothing capable of reflecting their children’s unique personalities.”  She’s now making sure that kids’ clothes are as individualized as they are, “replacing conformity with individuality; cute with uncommonly cute”.
Uncommonly Cute  supports Room to Grow and R Baby Foundation by donating a portion of their profits as well as merchandise to those cuties in need.
I received a shirt from Uncommonly Cute  to try out, courtesy of Uncommonly Cute.
My review:
I had such a hard time trying to select something from the Uncommonly Cute website! There are several designs that are quite cute and hard to make a selection.  There are several that fit my little man's personality to a "T", like this one:

Or just simply cute because of what they say:
Bouncergot love?
I picked out the shirt below because it was cute and to honor his Grandpa:
Grampa's Sidekick

I have seen a lot of these types of shirts and Uncommonly Cute  has some of the most descriptive shirts found. Considering how we, as parents are, I was loving many of the shirts with sayings like “Famous on Facebook” and “I’m huge on Twitter”.

Audiobook The Lion by Nelson DeMille

About the Book

John Corey, former NYPD Homicide detective and special agent for the Anti-Terrorist Task Force, is back. And,
unfortunately for Corey, so is Asad Khalil, the notorious Libyan terrorist
otherwise known as "The Lion." Last we heard from him, Khalil had claimed to be
defecting to the US only to unleash the most horrific reign of terrorism ever to
occur on American soil. While Corey and his partner, FBI agent Kate Mayfield,
chased him across the country, Khalil methodically eliminated his victims one by
one and then disappeared without a trace.

Now, years later, Khalil has returned to America to make good on his threats and take care of unfinished
business. "The Lion" is a killing machine once again loose in America with a
mission of revenge, and John Corey will stop at nothing to achieve his own goal
— to find and kill Khalil.

Closed: Eco -Friendly Bummas Review & Giveaway

Winner:

The Eco-Friendly Cloth Baby Wipe.

You can virtually eliminate irritating diaper rash without the use of powders, talcs, and ointments.
Bummas are small soft, luxurious baby-sized cloths made especially for drying baby bottoms, as well as blocking those surprise squirts. And with a little douse of water, they can also replace wet wipes for clean up of sensitive bums.   They are small enough to conveniently carry on the go and durable enough to wash over and over again and won’t pill shrink or fade.
We think you will find Bummas to be an indispensable item in your diaper changing regimen.

Their Story

Picture

The creation of Bummas came about when we had our first baby boy. When your first arrives, you are given all kinds of advice:

"Use the wet commercial wipes, don’t use the wet commercial wipes, use gauze; use whatever is handy to block the pee; use another diaper to block the pee; don’t use that, use this; use powder to dry them off, don’t use powder-it contains talc and studies have linked talc to cancer.”
The one thing that was never mentioned was how to dry our little guy’s “stuff” off after the clean up. Our baby’s bum was just way too wet to put a diaper back on--and blowing down there until you’re blue in the face just wasn’t working. Thus Bummas were born. A soft absorbent, luxurious baby cloth to soak up all the wetness.

The Routine

Grab a Bumma cloth before opening the diaper. Sneak “attacks” are frequent and will happen the second you open the diaper!  Place the Bumma over the privates while tending to the other parts.

One Bumma will soak up an entire pee. Clean up baby with a regular wipe or wet a Bumma and clean up sensitive skin.Use another Bumma to thoroughly dry baby off.  Re-diaper.  If the cover Bumma gets soaked rinse it off and throw it in the wash. The payoff- a dry bum, no diaper rash, and no surprise squirts.  Save money on diapers, and save by not having to buy powder, and ointment.

My Review
I was sent a set of Bummas The Wild Ones to review. I am very impressed with Bummas themselves as well as the idea. I try to use as many Eco-Friendly products in my home as I can and also to promote them on this blog. I had no issues using these on my 11 month old and will be happy to use them on our baby due November 25th.
I already had mine wet and in our small wipe container in replace of disposable wipes. After use, I just rinsed if a sink was available and either way, I popped in a baggy to wash at home.

The great thing is that they are also soft and you can use them to wipe little ones faces as well. At 11 months, he gets quite messy.
You will not only be helping the environment, but will save a lot of money too.
Check out Bummas and choose from their many variety packs.

Closed: Curious Chef Review & Ice Cream Scoop Giveaway

Winner:

I am sure you all have heard the saying, "The kitchen is the heart of the home." Well, in my home, it really is. In fact, no one is ever turned away for a meal. The more the merrier! We often have 7-8 people. We have incorporated teaching with our cooking and always have at least one child in the kitchen helping every meal. It is a great start to learning how to cook and have fun at the same time. Recently, I came across Curious Chef and they have wonderful products for children to use in the kitchen. They are just the right size for children.

About Curious Chef: Their Story

As parents, we loved bonding with our little ones in the kitchen—it’s a place where learning is exciting and even disasters can be fun! But we struggled to find cooking utensils our children could use safely, comfortably, and successfully.
That’s when the light bulb flashed on!
As professionals in the house wares industry, we knew we could design quality kitchen utensils and gadgets that children could use and enjoy. After years of development and real-world testing, the Curious Chef® collection of kid-friendly kitchen tools was born.
Tools, not Toys
Every piece in our collection is sized for small hands. What’s more, we made them bright, fun, and easy to grip. Even our cutlery is plastic and nylon, with blunt tips for safety. Our collection is extensive, with nearly everything a sous-chef might need.
Join the Journey of Discovery
It soon became clear that when children have their own set of kitchen tools and gadgets, they can get pretty excited about cooking. In no time at all, budding chefs will be gathering at kitchen counters, concocting their very own edible creations, and bonding with adults in the comfort of home.
Welcome! We hope you and your kids enjoy your own journey of cooking, discovery, and fun.

A Tiny Hands Review of Curious Chef

As I stated prior, there is always at least one child in the kitchen while we are cooking. We start this at a very young age so they are learning, but at the same time we want to develop children that are independent and self-sufficient. The kitchen is a great place to start that teaching. They are now proud to have tools that are their size and their very own.

We were sent the 15 piece Dessert Set to test and review and they loved using this set. The Curious Chef products are not just little versions of adult kitchen items. Their products are ergonomically designed to fit the small hands of children with grips to keep the tools safely in their hands. The kids are thinking they are just fun products for them, but they are fun products that allow kids to begin to gain confidence and grow their cooking skills.
The Curious Chef products are a great gift idea for kids. There is quite a selection of choices and they get the family working together and talking with one another.
