Brother P-Touch Team Kitchen Organization

Many readers know that I am a Brother P-Touch Ambassador and read my original post HERE.  As part of our assignment, for our second post we were each assigned a room. My assigned room for this challenge was the kitchen. I had requested this because I needed to get my pantry organized DESPERATELY! This pantry is tiny and it is all I have. It HAS to be organized!
To begin, we started by pulling out the wire shelving in the pantry. It can only handle so much weight. We replaced the wire shelving with wood shelving that my hubby made and installed. He then painted the entire closet with a fresh coat of white paint. Wow! Did it brighten it up! After going through the contents that had been held in the pantry and purging old stuff…ummmm, really old stuff that got buried. We purchased storage organizers, what we thought was a lot of them but after re-organizing, it seems I need more!  After getting the containers loaded and organized we took the time to label everything with our Brother P-Touch Label maker provided by Mom Central.
Once we got started with the labeler, it was so much fun to use! A great thing about the machine is that you can select from several styles. We chose what we thought would be easy to read. You can make labels within minutes of turning the machine! They length will depend on how long your words are.

As an added treat, my hubby made a custom spice rack!

The P-touch Labeler by Brother is available on Amazon for a mere $16.99. It is so useful and convenient, AND FUN! Now I want to organize and use it all over the house!

Stay tuned! I will have a follow up post in March.  I’ll share how the labels hold up with a hubby and three kids!

Listerine Oral Care Challenge: Follow–Up

If you recall, back in November  , I posted about the Listerine Oral Care Challenge that my family and I are participating in with Listerine and Mom Central! As I stated previously, this was/is a perfect time of year to participate as it always means a lot of sweets! From leftover Halloween candy to holiday pies and cakes — eating all those sweets seems harmless enough! However, we now know that pediatric oral disease is the #1 chronic childhood illness.

Through our participation, we had to brush, floss, and use mouth-wash twice a day every day for three weeks. We already did this, but getting kids to take part is trickier.

To assist in getting kids to participate, they had sent some kid-friendly toothbrushes. The likes of Batman and Phineas and Ferb! And some great kid’s mouthwashes. The toothbrushes were so cute they jumped on trying them and they helped them to get to those hard-to-reach back teeth. We allowed them to use the Reach Flosser, figuring that it made it much easier for to use because it has the handle on it.

The hubby and I used our brand new toothbrushes, Reach floss, and the Listerine Total Care Zero, which tastes really great. I particularly liked their floss. I have tried many that shredded with use and this didn’t!

The kids were most excited about the Smart Rinse! This is because the  Smart Rinse is that is tints any particles left behind from brushing, and when you expel them, you see the darker dots of grossness in the sink. While this is particularly disgusting to me, my children found it fascinating.

We like seeing the rinse actually does something. Hubby and I had to try the Smart Rinse too! We just had to see it an action…lol.

If you are concerned with your family having great oral care as we were, stop by the Listerine website where you will find loads of info on oral care for the whole family, even downloads to help teach kids at any age about smart oral care.

There is also a $1 coupon to get you started!

Turn Spare Keyboard Keys Into Fridge Magnets

Turn Spare Keyboard Keys Into Fridge Magnets

What a great DIY idea from Decoratrix for using spare keyboard parts for fridge note posting duty (oh wait, it's the very same idea we had awhile back!).
Glue-gun one of those tiny super strong magnets inside a keyboard key and you can not only post things up onto the fridge, but spell out the categories or assign names.
With a little planning and nice packaging, these could be fun stocking stuffers if you're looking for DIY gift ideas.
