Clean Up Your Act: Make Scented Laundry Booster

With very limited time and because we are pretty coupon savvy (we have at least a years supply of free fabric softener and very cheap but brand name laundry detergent) we aren't one of those families that make our own laundry detergents, however we like our clothes to have a fresh hint of scent, so, we make our own scented laundry booster.

Scented Laundry Booster
Directions:
  • Fill a plastic container with 1 + cups baking soda, add a few drops of essential oil to preference (begin with 2 drops per cup to see how scented you like yours, adding up to 2 more drops). Stir well. Seal the container and set aside for two weeks.
  • After the mixture sits at least two weeks, use the scented baking soda as a laundry booster (1/2 cup per load in the wash or rinse cycle–your choice). Do not add any commercial fabric softener.

I've never heard of doing this, I may have to try it. Thanks!
