Although it would be a lot of work, it would be simple enough to do. I had the idea previously, (for which a friend quickly stole borrowed and did) to take an available stencil at Home Depot, lay it on the wall and lightly add joint compound until you had the look you wanted. Then, paint the whole wall one color. That friend that stole borrowed my idea, theirs turned out wonderful.
