Baby Showers

I have mentioned before that I will be having a shower for my son and his girlfriend. I have been searching for ideas to make it beautiful. I just hope I can pull off everything I want to do. With a full time job, a blog that is darn near a full time job, and my family, there isn't much time left. Since I have an hour commute each way to work, I thought I would do what I can in the car. Oh, in case you are wondering, not while driving. Hubs and I work in the same company.

So, the first thing that is number one on my to do list is the
pom poms on Martha Stewart.
I absolutely love these and think they will be fabulous for the shower decor.

I think these
napkins at All You Need Is Love
are lovely. Although the idea here was for a wedding, the same principal can be applied to baby shower napkins to personalize them.

For take home treats, I love these
jars
at Party Box Design.

And it is driving me crazy! I want to do a candy bar and cannot find apothecary jars. Grrrrr!

I love party planning and your ideas look like fun! I find apothecary jars at T.J. Max, Ross, Big Lots, Michaels (40% off coupon), and other discount stores. Good luck!

So cute! I did a candy bar for my daughter's first birthday party, and used glass containers, rather than the apocratherapy jars. But, have you tried TJ Maxx? They usually have them.

You could make some apothecary jars...find glass jars you like and then glass candlesticks and glue them on! I am doing that for my bathroom because I was having the same problem. I love your ideas the shower will be gorgeous!

Hi, thanks for following. I have become a follower as well. My son is expecting our fist grandchild in July so am interested in your shower plans and ideas!

Instead of looking for apothecary jars, might I suggest you use any type of jars (spaghetti sauce, olives, etc) and just glue them onto old glass/crystal candlesticks for different heights and then tie ribbons into bows around the rims....and maybe at thrift stores you can find pretty silver spoons to put into each one...good luck!

Denise,

Thanks for your comment on my blog! Love the Martha Stewart pom poms. I seriously need to get me some of those. My daughter's 7th birthday is in a couple of weeks- I think they'd be perfect.

What a great blog you have! Thanks for visiting me! I've seen several people "make" apothecary jars using glass canisters with painted candle holders glued to the bottom, that way you can customize your colors, etc. Good luck!

Those pom poms are gorgeous! Do you think they'll be hard to make?

My sister made those pom poms for a party she had and they made a wonderful decoration, very pretty! She said they were pretty easy which is an added benefit :) You will have to post pictures when you actually do the shower, I'd love to see how it all turns out!!! :)

Thanks for visiting! You are my first but hopefully not my last visitor! :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog! From your ideas I know the shower will be wonderful. I saw the comment about attach glass candlesticks to jars to make apothecary jars. I also suggest using interesting vases mixed in. I did an event with a mixture of apothecary jars, pedestal containers, and vases in a candy bar, and it looked great. Good luck!

I love the poms. I made some for my niece's baby shower and I'm making some for a friend's wedding shower. They take time, but have a huge impact. Thanks for stopping by. Have a fun shower.
